The photograph is part of a sequence taken during three days when the 3rd Battalion 4th Marines of the USMC attacked and captured the Diwanya Bridge (the Baghdad Highway Bridge) prior to driving into Baghdad and pulling down the statue of Saddam Hussein outside the Palestine Hotel.
